Continuano i riconoscimenti e le ottime recensioni per il lavoro svolto dalle etichette Calabria Sona e Italy Sona in tutta Italia. Realtà dal motore calabrese, ma con uno sguardo proiettato alla musica dell’intero Sud: dopo la vittoria del premio “Mare aperto” per la world music d’autore, ottenuto dal gruppo pugliese “Sossio Banda”, prodotto da Italy Sona, arriva una nuova nomination per il disco di Francesco Loccisano e Marcello De Carolis, dal titolo “Venti”, uscito il 20 dicembre scorso.

Il lavoro discografico è stato segnalato tra i 20 album del 2020 che meglio rispecchiano le linee guida del Premio Nazionale città di Loano per la Musica Tradizionale Italiana secondo la direzione artistica e che, quindi, parteciperà all’assegnazione del prestigioso riconoscimento come migliore produzione discografica decretato da una giuria di oltre 60 giornalisti musicali italiani.

Un nuovo traguardo per le etichette calabresi che, già lo scorso anno, avevano presenziato con ben tre produzioni tra i 20 album segnalati dal premio: due tutte calabresi – Paolo Sofia con l’album “L’albero di more” e Francesca Prestia e Otello Profazio con l’album “Anch’io Francesca Prestia canto Otello Profazio” – e una produzione italiana con la Sossio Banda e “Ceppeccat”. Una continuità che conferma il buon lavoro che tutto il team di Calabria Sona sta portando avanti, puntando sulla qualità e su progetti di grande respiro nella nuova folk-music d’autore calabrese e non solo.

La notizia arriva all’indomani dell’uscita del nuovo singolo e video clip estratto da “Venti”, dal titolo “La tarantella di Zio Nicola”. Un brano che unisce e racconta il Sud – Calabria, Basilicata e Campania – attraverso i suoni delle chitarre battenti del calabrese Francesco Loccisano (che ha rivisitato il brano con Eugenio Bennato) e del lucano Marcello De Carolis. Una nuova perla dopo il grande successo di “Danza Ionia”, che ha suscitato interesse e ammirazione anche da parte del mitico Red Ronnie che presto ospiterà il duo dal vivo nel suo appuntamento televisivo settimanale.

Il Premio Nazionale Città di Loano per la Musica Tradizionale Italiana è uno dei più importanti riconoscimenti in Italia per la musica folk. Nasce nel 2005 con l’intento di promuovere e valorizzare la produzione contemporanea di musica tradizionale di radice nazionale. Il premio pone l’attenzione sulle proposte musicali che intrecciano la ricerca, il recupero e la valorizzazione della cultura musicale più antica e “tradizionale” con la nuova interpretazione della “musica popolare” – quella cioè che si è evoluta nell’incontro con altre culture, con nuove sensibilità, con nuovi strumenti e tecnologie. Il premio viene realizzato dalla Compagnia dei Curiosi con la collaborazione e il sostegno dell’Assessorato al Turismo, Cultura e Sport del Comune di Loano e con la direzione artistica di John Vignola. Il Premio Loano è diretto dal 2018 dal musicologo e giornalista Jacopo Tomatis.
