“Donne del Sud – anch’io Francesca Prestia canto Otello Profazio”: è il titolo del nuovo progetto discografico della cantastorie calabrese in uscita per “Calabria Sona” che sarà presentato venerdì 31 maggio con inizio alle ore 18 nel Centro Polivalente di via Fontana Vecchia a Catanzaro. Alla  “speciale” presentazione – spettacolo musicale, che sarà condotta dalla giornalista e scrittrice Chiara Fera, interverranno oltre a Francesca Prestia e ad Otello Profazio, l’assessore al Welfare e al Lavoro della Regione Calabria Angela Robbe e Giuseppe Marasco direttore generale di “Calabria Sona”.

Il nuovo Cd di Francesca Prestia, “con incursioni estemporanee” (com’è scritto nella copertina) del principe dei cantastorie del Mediterraneo e già Premio Tenco che il prof. Giuseppe Tripodi (firma della graffiante nota espositiva del Cd) definisce “un grande affabulatore, ironico e autoironico, che non si stanca mai di essere se stesso e non sa cos’è  la dissimulazione”,  contiene  14  brani scritti e musicati da Otello Profazio, di cui due, “Lu me paisi” e “La regina senza re” (quest’ultimo racconta la vicenda di Franca Viola, la prima donna a rifiutare nel 1965  il matrimonio riparatore dopo essere stata violentata dal nipote di un boss) frutto della collaborazione di Profazio col grande poeta di Bagheria, il suo amico Ignazio Buttitta. Le 14 tracce sono interpretate dalla voce “calda e appassionata” (così l’ha definita la scrittrice Dacia Maraini) dell’unica cantastorie donna della Calabria che continua, dopo il premio speciale 2018  per “la miglior musica originale” (avuto per la ballata dedicata alla contadina di Calabricata Giuditta Levato assassinata dal latifondo nel ’46) del prestigioso concorso nazionale  dedicato a Giovanna Daffini (la cantante esponente di spicco del gruppo del Nuovo Canzoniere Italiano)   organizzato in provincia di Mantova, a ricevere apprezzamenti e ammirazione per il suo “cuntu e cantu” le donne del Mezzogiorno.

Dopo la presentazione ufficiale del 31 Maggio, il disco sarà disponibile su tutte le piattaforme digitali, su Amazon e nei punti vendita affiliati a “Calabria Sona” in tutta la Calabria.
